He has served as a volunteer leader at the branch, division and national level, and is currently a member of ACA's Governing Council.

Dr. Lawson is an Associate Professor in the Counselor Education program at Virginia Tech. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. In addition to being the ACES representative to the ÀÖ²©´«Ã½Governing Council, he is a trustee of the ÀÖ²©´«Ã½ Foundation. He earned his doctorate in Counselor Education from the College of William and Mary, his M.S.Ed. in Community and College Counseling from Longwood College, and his B.S. in Family and Child Development, Family Studies from Virginia Tech.
